More Dangers Of Fructose, FaceBook article from Beverly Meyer at The Diet For Human Beings

Website for more Information: www.dietandhealthcenter.info
Event Description:
MORE DANGERS OF FRUCTOSE
Fructose is one of the main sugars causing obesity, insulin resistance, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, along with high blood pressure and weight gain.
High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is nearly ubiquitous in nationally advertised food, including sodas, tomato sauce, mayo, bread, cookies, yogurt, jelly, and more.
Corn syrup is just ONE source of fructose – although it is the most concentrated and dangerous. Fructose also comes from fruit, juice, and other foods such as agave nectar.
While we are all working on reducing carbohydrates (I hope), many of us have become fruit junkies instead of cookie junkies. While this is an improvement, it still can make your blood sugar unstable, cause energy swings, and cause obesity, insulin resistance and triglycerides.
Change to the Paleo Diet, and stop starches. Drop fruit for a while too until stable.

BREAKFAST, SNACKS, AND SMOOTHIES CLASS SUNDAY, May 20th RSVP

12:30 to 3:30.   Cost: $50.
All are welcome, but PLEASE register in advance so we can make plans.
If you think a proper Smoothie is blended up juice,
fruit and almond milk, you NEED to come to this class.
Learn how to get sufficient protein and fat in there!  And how to plan breakfast so it’s ready to go in the morning. Snacks can be mood and marriage-savers, if they contain the protein, fat and gentle carbs you require to fuel you without spiking your blood sugar.  Breakfast must be a solid, well-constructed meal or your whole day will be a blood sugar cycle! Every meal and snack should have enough protein, fat, and non-starchy carbs to last 4 to 5 hours without sugar cravings, a drop in energy, or a crash in brain function.
I personally eat every four hours, and I stick to my schedule.  I eat a lot of “car picnics” and take meals with me whenever I go out.  I find a nice place to park, lock the doors, put on some Mozart, spread out a nice napkin, and eat on time. Keeping your blood sugar stable is the first big key to recovery of health, and to feeling well every day.

From HeartMath Institute: Anchor Your Insights in Four Steps for Sustained Positive Change

Anchor Your Insights
“Take the power of your heart intent and have courage to put your insights into action.”
– Doc Childre
Many of us have already had good insights about what we need to do to change repeating patterns that result in stress, damaged relationships or other unwanted outcomes.

We feel the need for change and we’re motivated, but when that challenging situation arises, we go through the same mechanical responses. Or we may try acting on an insight for a bit and then slip back. Whether the problem is in our standard reactions to others or in our personal health and work habits, things keep going the way they have been, but you can change them through Anchoring™.

You actually can “anchor” a good insight you’ve had so you can increase your ability to act on it, rather than allow it to fade away. Here are the four steps for anchoring an insight:

Step 1.         Appreciate the insight. Appreciate this new perspective, intelligence or common sense that you now can bring to bear on a situation or issue.
Step 2.         Appreciate any positive feelings associated with the insight. Appreciation of these feelings, perhaps hope and peace, gives the insight more significance in your feeling world, making it easier to recall.
Step 3.         Write down the insight and revisit it daily, with appreciation. This helps you continue investing it with feeling and keeps hope for inspiration and change alive.
Step 4.         Go for it. Go beyond “I know I should” and make the change – because you see the intelligence of it. To add to your power to quickly shift your attitude and course of action, read Attitude Replacements on page 6 of our Spring ‘07 newsletter.

You can increase your momentum for change by looking for opportunities to act on your insight, and asking your heart to prompt you to do so when those situations arise. View these situations as opportunities to solidify your new way of responding.

If you slip back into old habits, appreciate yourself for noticing that you did, because that’s a more efficient use of your energy than feeling bad. Then make genuine attempts to recall and appreciate the original insight and renew your efforts.

Every time you act on your insight, appreciate that you have done so and anchor the reference point.

Research shows that generating positive emotions can help you reinforce your success. The more you act on your insight, the more your intelligence will reveal how to handle a situation more skillfully.

Homotoxicology: Reversing the Influences of Toxic Burden and Chronic Degenerative
Disease               Wednesday 5/9/12    RSVP
Sponsored by SA Functional Medicine
Speaker:  Ricardo Boye, ND

Time:  6:30 – 9:30pm

Location:  Methodist Stone Oak Hospital – Classroom 1

For those practitioners who become familiar with the science of homotoxicology,
new and dramatic shifts in the healing process are revealed.  The science itself
deals with the human body’s defense against toxic substances (homotoxins) that
threaten to overwhelm the extracellular and intercellular matric, resulting in disease.
Often over simplified, the principles of homotoxicology are integral to understanding
the processes of reversing chronic illness..

This informative presentation with Ricardo Boye, ND will introduce homotoxicology
and it’s essential role in guiding the healing process.

Highlights include:

1)              Understanding the function of the intercellular matrix

2)              The 6 phases of toxicity and the Chart of Homotoxicology

3)              Retracing the path of disease – from toxicity to health

4)              Meeting the challenges of homotoxone coupling

5)              Keys to developing therapies that reach the organelles of the cell

Dr. Boye practices as a board certified Naturopath and Nutritionist at the Spa on
Green Street in Gainesville, GA. His concern is to provide practical solutions for
the growing health crisis in the fields of preventive care and chronic illness.
He is a senior instructor for the Energetix International College of BioEnergetic
medicine. His lectures offer a stimulating blend of the latest scientific findings
in BioEnergetic medicine, homotoxicology and practical strategies toadvance the
understanding of the human body’s innate capacity to heal

HeartMath offers Shift and Shine® Technique for Children

During its many years of scientific research into human stress and emotions the Institute of HeartMath has established that the qualities of joy, caring, appreciation and openheartedness, which children so naturally possess, have the power to transform our lives. Like you, we see in our children the hope of the future, and we have studied extensively ideas for nurturing these positive qualities of the heart in young children.

HeartMath’s Shift and Shine® Technique is a powerful tool developed especially for ages 3-6 that has proven effective in giving children an early start on how to manage their emotions and engage in socially accepted behavior, while also strengthening positive feelings such as love, caring and appreciation. Like adults, children, even our youngest, experience stress, and this tool can help lessen it by teaching them skills they can carry throughout their lives.

Parents, grandparents and teachers – pre-school and elementary – will find this technique easy to teach and fun for children and themselves. It takes only a few minutes so you and your children can practice it daily.

Parents: Ask your child: Do you ever have a warm feeling in your heart when you feel love or care for someone? It’s kind of like the warmth from the sun.

Parents, help your children with the following steps:

Heart Attention – Place your attention on the area around your heart or center of the chest. It helps to put your hand over your heart area. Model by putting hand over your heart.

Heart Breathing – Now pretend to breathe in and out of your heart. Take three slow breaths. Model the breathing.
Heart Feeling – Think of someone or something that makes you feel happy, like your mom or dad, or maybe a special place that you visit, like the park. Feel that happy feeling in your heart and then shine that happy feeling to someone or something special – your brother or sister or the whole world. Let the children experience the feeling for a few seconds. The length of time will increase with each exercise.

Roundup Herbicide Linked to Parkinson’s-Related Brain Damage

> Alarming new research published in the journal Neurotoxicology and Teratology supports the emerging connection between glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup herbicide, and neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonian disorders.
>
> Published this month (April, 2012), the new study entitled “Glyphosate induced cell death through apoptotic and authophagic mechanisms,” investigated the potential brain-damaging effects of herbicides, which the authors stated “have been recognized as the main environmental factor associated with neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease.”1
>
> They found that glyphosate inhibited the viability of differentiated test cells (PC12, adrenal medula derived), in both dose-and-time dependent manners. The researchers also found that “glyphosate induced cell death via authophagy pathways in addition to activating apoptotic pathways.”
>
> Roundup herbicide is now a ubiquitous contaminant in our air, rain, groundwater, and food, making complete avoidance near impossible. A growing body of experimental evidence now indicates that it in addition to its neurotoxicity it also has the following.
> Modes of Toxicity
>
>     Carcinogen
>     Endocrine Disruptor
>     Genotoxic
>     Biocide
>     Cytotoxic
>     Bioaccumulator
>     Hepatotoxic
>     Teratrogenic
>     Clastogenic
>     Oxidant
>     Aquacidal
>     Mutagenic
>     Aromatase Disruptor
>     Glutathione Down-regulator
>     Malondialdehyde Up-regulator
>     Necrotic
>     Nephrotoxic
>
>
> Once marketed as “safe as table salt” by Monsanto, the original patent holder and manufacturer of this glyphosate-based herbicide, evidence now indicates it is toxic to human DNA at concentrations diluted 450-fold lower than used in agricultural applications.
>
> This study only adds to human case reports of glyphosate-poisoning  and/or occupational exposure where neurological damage was a direct consequence.  A 2011 case study published in the journal Parkinsonism Related Disorders, entitled “Parkinsonism after chronic occupational exposure to glyphosate,” reported the following incident:
>
> Here we report a patient with parkinsonism following chronic occupational exposure to glyphosate. A previously healthy 44- year-old woman presented with rigidity, slowness and resting tremor in all four limbs with no impairment of short-term memory, after sustaining long term chemical exposure to glyphosate for 3 years as a worker in a chemical factory. The chemical plant produced a range of herbicides including: glyphosate, gibberellins, and dimethyl hydrogen phosphite; however, the patient worked exclusively in the glyphosate production division. She only wore basic protection such as gloves or a face mask for 50 h each week in the plant where glyphosate vapor was generated. She frequently felt weak. Two months before she came to our clinic, she had expe- rienced severe dizziness and blurred vision.
>
>
> Another case study published in 2003 reported a case of parkinsonism subsequent to glyphosate exposure.
>
> These case studies are also backed up by animal research. In the roundworm model of glyphosate exposure the chemical results in neurodegeneration directly associated with damage to the dopamine and GABA producing neurons. In the rat model, glyphosate exposure results in oxidative brain damage, particularly the substantia nigra, where the highest concentration of dopamine-producing cells reside, and which is the primary locus of neurological damage in Parkinson’s disease.

•    painful periods
•     late, early, or irregular periods, headache
•     migraine with period
•    varicose veins of the legs
•     low back ache
•     frequent urination
•     vaginal yeast conditions
•     difficulty in getting pregnant
•     frequent miscarriages
•     difficult menopause….and the list goes on.

DATE and TIME: This 3 hour class will be offered in 2 morning and  2 evening sessions,  Thursday April 26 and Friday April 27 beginning at 9 am and at 6:30 pm.

COST: The suggested price is $60. If you have financial concerns, options are open. Class size is limited to 12 participants and each person will receive personal time from the facilitator.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Zita Xavier has studied Mayan Abdominal Massage with Miss Beatrice Waight, Ann Drucker and Rosita Arvigo. She has been teaching and practicing this ancient self-care method since 1996. She developed Deep Listening Massage which she teaches at the Healing Spirits Massage School in Boulder, Colorado. She is also practices Vitalist Health and is certified as a Medical Herbalist.

ABOUT THIS TECHNIQUE: This simple abdominal self care massage technique , which is used all over the world, is coming back to our culture through the Mayan people.
“Traditional midwives and healers agree that most female troubles are caused by a wandering womb.” Rosita Arvigo, from her book Rainforest Home Remedies. Uterine ligaments are made to stretch to accommodate a growing fetus and to move freely when the bladder and bowel is full. These ligaments and muscles can weaken and loosen causing the uterus to fall downward, forward, backward, or to either side. A uterus in any of these positions is called a prolapsed or tipped uterus and can lead to all kinds of problems. A tipped uterus can often be returned to her happiest position with massage.
